Herceg Novi
Herceg Novi brings together the Old Town, stone squares, fortresses and a seaside promenade. Start at the Clock Tower and Belavista, then choose to visit Forte Mare or Kanli kula. Plan the climb to Španjola separately and check on works and access beforehand.
When choosing accommodation, pay attention to the actual walking route, the steps and where luggage can be unloaded. You can link Škver and the promenade with Topla and Igalo; for longer trips, arrange transport and your return first. Check the cultural programme, tickets and opening hours for the dates of your stay.

Sights
Local sights and useful visiting information.
Herceg Novi Old Town
Stone streets and small squares make up the historic core above Škver harbour. Start getting to know the town here before heading to the fortresses.
Forte Mare
Forte Mare stands above the shoreline and recalls the town's defence from the sea. The fortress makes a good continuation of an Old Town visit.
Kanli kula
Kanli kula is one of the landmark structures above the Old Town streets. A visit introduces the town's fortifications and contemporary cultural events.
Španjola — Fortress Above the Town
Španjola stands above the central part of town. Its position is interesting for understanding the defensive system and for views towards the entrance to the Bay of Kotor.
Activities
Check what's available and the conditions before planning an active day.
Pet Danica Promenade — Town Section
The promenade is a good way to link the Herceg Novi waterfront with Topla and Igalo to the west or Savina to the east. Choose the section that suits your day.
Walking Loop Through the Old Town Squares
This suggested short town loop runs from the Clock Tower via Belavista to Mića Pavlović Square. Add the fortresses separately if you want a longer visit.

Arriving in the Old Town — Steps and Luggage
The Old Town sits on a slope above the sea. Distance on a map does not show the number of steps or the most practical approach to your address.
Herceg Novi Without a Car
A car-free stay is easiest to plan around how your accommodation connects to the promenade, the Old Town and confirmed transport for longer journeys.
Parking for Visiting the Centre
To visit the centre, choose a designated parking area and continue on foot. The old streets and steps are not places to stop a car.
