Budva Old Town
The Old Town is the most concentrated part of Budva for walking, history and an evening out. Ramparts, squares, churches, museums and small streets make it a good starting point, whether you are visiting for the first time or have only a few hours.
Budva Town Walls
The Old Town ramparts shape Budva’s distinctive silhouette and connect towers, gates and the fortress. They make most sense as part of a visit to the historic centre, together with the Citadel and the waterfront beside Ričardova glava.
Budva Town Museum
Budva Town Museum is in a 19th-century house in the Old Town. Permanent archaeological and ethnographic exhibitions help put a walk around town into a wider context, while the lapidarium on the ground floor is particularly interesting for a short visit.
Budva Modern Gallery
Budva Modern Gallery is in the Old Town and adds a contemporary exhibition programme to a visit around town. It is a good stop when you want a quieter cultural break between walks around the squares and waterfront.
Stefan Mitrov Ljubiša Memorial House
The memorial house preserves the memory of Budva writer and politician Stefan Mitrov Ljubiša in the house where he was born. It is a small but substantive stop for visitors interested in the town’s cultural story as well as its scenery.
Church of St John
The Church of St John is one of the key religious sites in the Old Town. It stands beside the remains of an early Christian basilica, making it easy to visit during a circular walk through the historic centre.
